Logitech MX 610 Left-Hand Laser Cordless Mouse Review


I mostly use this for gaming, though now I would like one for work as well…it’s not perfect when compared to a wired mouse, but it’s the best wireless mouse I’ve used.

some reviewers have complained about interference — I see interference if I set my phone down next to my mouse pad. This may be especially relevant having a bluetooth enabled phone. If I move the phone at least a foot away, the problem goes away. Same thing when I got a pair of Logitech headphones…move the USB dongles about 2 feet apart, no more issues. The headphones:

Before I corrected this, the mouse would seem to be driving itself, I even suspected some sort of spyware/trojan infection, where someone might be remote controlling my computer :P

I use Energizer rechargables, they are 1.5V NiMH, not 1.2V NiCad. They last me about 2 weeks, then I pop another pair in.

As far as useability, it made my gaming much better than it had been as I can do most things without moving my hands away from the mouse and arrow keys (no WASD movement for a leftie!) so I rarely have to look down. Before the MX610, I always used the Logitech v200 & v270 wireless mice, which only have left/right click and really feel small in my hand now. The MX610 is far more comfortable now. My backup now is a huge old Microsoft Intellimouse which I used to loath.

The universal mice are OK, but nothing is easier and more comfortable to use than a contoured mouse fit for your left hand. Logitech hardware is always reliable and easy to install – highly recommend this for any lefty out there!

I was recently diagnosed with carpal tunnel. I am left handed but have always moused with my right hand. The doctor suggested I figure out ways to spare my right hand so I made the switch to the Logitech MX 610 Left-Hand mouse. At first I was tring to use a universal mouse with the buttons reversed but it was not working well. As soon as I got the MX 610 I made the transition to left handed mousing with ease. I was surprised how quickly I made the change once I had the right mouse. I don’t really use many of the extra funtions so I can’t comment on that. I did keep my right handed Logitech VX Revolution mouse for those times I have a righty that can’t adjust. You can run both mice with no problem. I plug the cordless adapter into my monitor and have no signal problems.

Before I ordered this, my hand was constantly sore from using a regular mouse. The ergo effect made specifically for left handed people is great. It has stopped the sore aching feeling in my hand from using my mouse all day. Love it!
